What is Heavenly Virtue Noble?

It's like a bonus star everybody wants to have in their bazi charts. When there is a Heavenly Virtue Noble (HVN) star in the natal chart, the lucky owner is easier to gain favors from the Heavens. Ideally, the star should be positive and the effect can be felt when the HVN star appears again in the luck pillar, year, month or day. The best is when it appears in the luck pillar because it will last for 10 years and even better if it also represents your positive wealth star. If it appears during the bad luck pillar, year, month or day, it can help to reduce the negative impact.

The question now is how do we identify our Heavenly Virtue Noble stars?

I'm not going to give you a table to memorize but will guide you on how to find the HVN star without hurting your brains. The HVN star is derived from the month earthly branch.

For the months of zi, mao, wu and you, just add on 5 animals.

Since zi is the 1st animal, then si being the 6th animal is the HVN star, just like the chart above.

Mao is the 4th animal, then shen being the 9th animal is the HVN star.

Wu horse is the 7th animal, then hai being the 12th animal is the HVN star.

You rooster is the 10th animal, after adding 5, we have 15. I think you should know that the 15th animal is equivalent to the 3rd animal because there are only 12 animals. So, yin tiger is the HVN star.

As for all the other animals, the formula is based on the 3 combo.

Let's begin with the chou month. Chou is part of the si-you-chou metal frame. The metal star that can be found inside chou is xin. The other metal star geng is the HVN star. The geng must be in the stems of the natal chart including the day stem. The geng inside shen will not be considered as the HVN star.

Yin tiger is part of the yin-wu-xu fire frame. The fire star that can be found inside yin tiger is bing. The other fire star ding is the HVN star.

Chen is part of the shen-zi-chen water frame. The water star that can be found inside chen is gui. The other water star ren is the HVN star.

Si is part of the si-you-chou metal frame. The metal star that can be found inside si is geng. So, the other metal star xin is the HVN star.

If you have understood the above formula, I'm sure you can find the HVN stars for the months of wei, shen, xu and hai. Please try before scrolling down for the answers.

Wei is part of the hai-mao-wei wood frame. The wood star inside wei is yi. So, jia is the HVN star.

Shen is part of the shen-zi-chen water frame. The water star inside shen is ren. So, gui is the HVN star.

Xu is part of the yin-wu xu fire frame. The fire star inside xu is ding. So, bing is the HVN star.

Lastly, hai is part of the hai-mao-wei wood frame. The wood star inside hai is jia. So, yi is the HVN star.

Finding the Useful god - Case 38

This is from my 32nd reader and also the last case of finding the Useful god. I hope all these cases have given you some ideas on how to determine the Useful god. I might not be perfect but my choices are based on sound bazi theories, be it from the technical or classical analysis.

1. El
2. Female
3. 26th January, 1994
4. 10.30 am
5. Cyprus
6. Student.

This ren day master is a weak one because she was born very deep into the chou month which means her season of birth is considered as the earth season. One school of thought teaches that when the gui or ren water star is in the stem other than the day master, the chou is considered as the winter season. That is why sometimes we need a little feed back. As for this case, I will read it as a weak day master.

So, what is her most important star?

From the technical analysis, a weak ren day master wants the resource metal stars. Geng should be her Useful god. Besides being the resource star, geng also combines away the two yi stars and turning them into positive resource stars with the support from the chou earth month.

From the classical analysis, this chart gives us a picture of a beautiful lotus pond with a morning rain at the end of a winter. The bing which represents the sun will make perfect this scenery.

This is a fake follower chart because the 2 gui resource stars buried inside chen and chou are not usable. Technically, the day master of a fake follower chart wants to be weaken further.

What is his Useful god?

His output fire stars should be his Useful god and I have chosen bing because of the sunrise hour.

This is a strong wu earth day master with strongly rooted self stars.

What is her Useful god?

From the technical analysis, a strong day master with strong self stars needs the officer stars to control them. From the classical analysis, the earth stars need the wood stars to loosen them. When dealing with strong wu earth, jia wood will be able to play the role better.

This is a weak geng day master sitting on her indirect resource star.

What is her Useful god?

From the technical analysis, this weak geng day master needs the earth stars to strengthen it. Note that the 7K star, bing is countering the geng and bing is strongly rooted in si and strongly supported by the mao month. So, the earth resource stars are also needed to arbitrate the bing-geng clash.

From the classical analysis, this geng day master is too weak to be forged by the ding fire.

So, the earth stars should be her Useful god. I"m choosing the ji earth over the wu earth simply because ji being a yin stem is more usable.

What is her Useful god?

Obviously yi wood to keep the ding fire glowing.

From the classical analysis, this ji day master will only be fully functional in the presence of bing, gui and jia or yi wood. However, there is no bing and even if there is bing, it will not be that useful in the chou hour. Still, the gui, jia and yi can make him functional.

From the technical analysis, this is a weak ji day master. A weak ji day master needs the fire resource stars. Please note that the ji-wei day pillar is forming a fan-yin with the yi-chou hour pillar.

So, what is his Useful god?

Fire stars are needed to arbitrate the yi-ji clash. Besides, for a weak ji day master, the fire resource stars stand for his happiness and in bazi general theory, fire also represents joy and happiness. So ding fire is his Useful god which is especially useful in the dark hours of chou.

With only one self star and no resource star as the main qi, this looks like a fake follower chart. A fake follower chart is treated as a strong chart. So, the ding fire is negative.

What do you think is her Useful god?

I will choose the gui water as her Useful god because from the technical analysis, gui water can help to control the ding fire and from the classical analysis, gui water can make the block of ji-chou earth more fertile.

This is definitely a strong ding day master with very strong presence of her self stars. The ding fire day master needs to be weaken. So, her Useful god has to be either her earth output or water officer star. I think this is not a difficult case. Please give it a try first.

When a chart is strong because of self stars, we need the officer stars to control it. So, this chart needs the water officer star to control the strong fire stars. Besides, this ding fire day master was born in the afternoon of summer. The natural choice would be the gui water. When the technical and classical methods match, the choice becomes obvious.

This is a weak bing day master born during the dark hours. Her positive stars are the wood and fire stars.

What do you think is her Useful god?

Unlike the ding fire, bing fire which represents the sun is self sustain and does not need the resource stars to keep it shining. However, the wood stars are still positive technically. So, this weak bing day master needs the help of the ding fire to show him the way in the dark hours. Ding fire is her Useful god.

I would like to make an announcement here.

I have received many e-mails asking me as to when I will conduct bazi courses again. Now, I have thought out a plan and I hope it will work out. I have decided to teach again but this time only to those who already have some basics. It will be in the form of Q & A. You can make an appointment for 1 day, 2 or 3 days and the number of hours depends on each individual. For those who are interested, please go to www.bingbazi.com and click CONTACT to e-mail me.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
