Not All Cai-Guan-Yin Charts Are Good

Cai-guan-yin charts apply only to weak day masters and they are supposed to be more superior than most charts. In a cai-guan-chart, the four stars in the stems are in a production cycle. As in the above case, ji -> xin -> gui -> jia. However, this is an example of an unfavorable cai-guan-yin chart.

Why is it so?

The jia wood day master needs the gui water to nourish it. Unfortunately, the gui water is dead in the strong earth season. The gui needs to be rooted in hai or zi to come alive but there is none in the natal chart. There is only a ren water minor qi inside shen which means that the spouse can be of great help since shen is in the spouse palace.. When the water stars are too weak or dead, all the ji earth will not be fertile enough. So, this jia wood is half dead.

How can a half dead jia wood controls the not so fertile earth wealth stars?

Certainly not. This means that the owner can run into great debts if he is involve in speculation or gambling activities.

This kind of chart will become worse if the hour pillar is geng-wu.
Picture
Many bazi students think that the above day and hour pillars form into a very beautiful picture. Ding fire forges the geng metal which then shapes the jia wood. This is not true when the jia wood is half dead. The beautifully forged geng metal rooted in shen will chop down the half dead jia wood. This means that the owner can self destruct or be suicidal when all hope is gone.

Now look at the scenario below.
Picture
This jia wood is healthy and well nourished with the gui water beside it. Gui water is also strong in the metal season. Besides that, the jia wood day master is also rooted in its self star. So, the beautifully forged geng metal can shape this healthy jia wood into something more valuable.

See the difference?

Finding the Useful god - Case 14

Chart of the 8th reader that wishes to know her Useful god.

1. Samantha
2. Female
3. 1st September 1991
4. 10 pm
5. Malaysia
6. Operating father business

This is a weak jia day master sitting on a rocky mountain and born in the night hours of autumn. What is her Useful god? This one shouldn't be too difficult for most of you.

It's the water stars, which will help to grow the jia wood. Water stars can also help to loosen up the hard earth of the rocky mountain and make the earth more fertile. Gui water which represents the rain water is more appropriate. So, gui is her Useful god. Without the gui water in her natal chart, ren water is also usable. By the way, bing combines with xin and transform into water stars. So, this chart is quite favorable since water stars are strongly rooted. From the technical analysis, this is a weak day master and the water stars are also positive.

This is the 7th bazi chart from my readers.

1. Low
2. Male
3. 21st October, 1971
4. 5 pm
5. Singapore
6. IT engineer

His day pillar is ji-mao which represents seeds in the ground. What do you think is his Useful god? Please do not scroll down too soon. Exercise your thinking faculty first. I think the harder part is to identify his secondary Useful god.

Ji-mao represents seeds in the ground and this ji day master was born in the strong earth month with wu-xu as the month pillar. So, his Useful god should be the gui water to make fertile the strong amount of earth and to grow the seeds in the ground. As you can see from the chart, the gui water is in the hour stem and this water star is well rooted in hai. So, this chart is quite a favorable one.

What else does the chart need to be more complete?

The bing which represents the sun or the wood stars which represent the trees and the plants? Scroll up and think again before you scroll down for my thoughts.

The mao underneath the ji earth can also be seen as young plants. The sun is useful in helping them to grow but in the you rooster hour, the bing is powerless. As far as bazi theory is concerned, the sun in the you hour is the setting sun and it is considered as the arrival of nightfall. Remember that the bing in the dark hours represents the moon. So, the wood stars should be his secondary Useful god so as to make the fertile earth more functional. I will prefer jia wood because jia represents the trees and these trees can help to loosen up the strong block of wu-xu earth more effectively.

Finding Useful god is back. This is the details from the 6th reader.

3. 20th November, 1984
4. 9.04 am
5. Malaysia
6. Consultant

This is a weak wu earth day master born in a cold winter morning.

What do you think is her Useful god?

Please give it a try first and then scroll down for the answer.

The Useful god has to be the fire stars to give warm to a cold winter morning. If she was born in the dark hours, then we use the ding fire which represent the fire place to keep us warm. Since it is already morning, bing will be more appropriate. Besides giving us the warmth, it helps the jia and yi to grow.

How do we activate the bing in the hour branch?

1. Both the fire stars represent politeness and giving happiness to people. Sometimes, a big smile and some kind words         can work wonders.
2. Bing also represents her mother. Taking care and spending quality time with her mother will help.
3. Bing, being the sun also represents routine and since it is also the resource star, she can upgrade herself by attending         classes or courses on a regular basis.
4. Finally, positive bing also represents the Divine. Do prayers ring a bell?

If the bing is in the stem, the above actions will come more naturally but when it is in the branch, more effort has to be taken to activate it.

Shen-Sha, Another Layer of Information

2/9/2016

Shen-sha or auxiliary stars can add another layer in bazi analysis. The auxiliary stars that affect us directly are the ones at the day pillar. The negative effect can take place when the day branch are clashed, harmed or destructed. If it is due to past karma, then the negative effect will be felt when both the day and year branches are disturbed.

The above bazi is just for our case study purpose and does not belong to a real person.

Let's take a look at this example. The auxiliary stars in the day pillar are Flying Blade and Sickness. This indicates that there might be an operation due to an illness in the future. If this is a lady's chart, then her father is the ding fire which is in the day branch. This means that her father too can face the same situation.

When we come across this situation, we need to analyse the whole chart to find out the cause for this kind of karma, especially the year pillar which represents the past.

First you need to know that the wood stars represent living creatures because wood is the only element that can grow as far as the five elements are concern. Yi represents the smaller ones while jia represents the bigger ones. Look at the chart and you can see that xin is countering the yi and there are two wei which contain the storage of yi. So, we can conclude that this person had killed many living creatures in her past life. The yi is also sitting beside the ren water which means that the creatures were from the sea. Probably, this person and her father were fishermen in their past but they need not necessarily be related.

Note also that her father star, ding is also in the graveyards of wei. Since wei stars are in the year and month branches, she might lose her father before the age of 35.

How can we rectify such a situation?

Of course, the Heavens will always give us opportunities to rectify our misdeeds. To reduce the impact of this kind of impending karma, my advice are

1. be a blood donor to save lives,
2. donate money for poor peoples' healthcare,
3. liberate lives by releasing fishes, especially for this case and
4. be a vegetarian to avoid indirect killing.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
