2016, bing-shen year
This is the chart of a 72 year-old friend of mine who had just passed a few days ago because of cancer. From the ZiPing criterion, this is a strong bing day master. A strong day master does not want the resource stars to protrude. Unfortunately, the 2 yi wood stars are strongly rooted in the mao spring season. This strongly rooted negative wood energy causes the chart to become ill balance.

His present luck pillar with ren water protruding is also negative because it grows the negative wood stars. The negative bing-shen fu-yin is all too familiar. I hope he's in safe hands.

Q1. Why is it that the strongly rooted ji earth could not contain the ren water?

Q2. Which part of the body do you think is the problem area?

It's time to do some thinking again. I will update you in a few days time.

Updated on 1st May

A1. Although the ji earth stars are rooted, they are weak because they are badly countered by the very strongly rooted wood stars. Furthermore, earth stars are dead in the spring season.

A2. It is the pancreas which is the problem of the negative yi wood stars. For ill balance bazi charts of strong day master, normally the illness will be that of the negative resource stars. Check out the 2 posts below for consistency.

This is the chart of a 66 year-old very successful businessman. He is in the wholesale business dealing with stationery. Unfortunately, things are not going well for him in this negative jia-zi luck pillar. This is a chart of a weak gui day master. With the resource geng, metal star and officer ji, earth star protruding in the natal chart, the wealth fire stars too become positive. In this kind of situation, only the output wood stars are negative. In fact, the negative jia combined with ji and turned into earth star with the support of the summer season. So, all the stars were initially positive in his natal chart. Since the positive wealth star is in the month earthly branch, he is said to be born in the door of wealth.

As you can see, the ding-mao and bing-yin luck pillars were very favorable for him because the positive protruding ding and bing wealth stars were rooted in si and wu horse.

In his present jia-zi luck pillar, the jia-zi forms a negative fu-yin with the hour pillar and something bad happened.

To make this case study more interesting, I will give you a few days to analyse as to what could have possibly gone wrong. I will be in touch with you all again soon.

1st update on 14th April 2016

For those who have mentioned that it's health issue, you are spot on. The jia-zi negative fu-yin only gives us a sad event which is not necessary a health issue. Health issue is due to the direct resource star, geng. Some of you mentioned that the geng is weakened by the fan-yin between the jia-zi luck pillar and the geng-wu month pillar but I feel that it is because the geng is dead in the summer season. So potentially, there will a health issue because the direct resource star is dead in the season. The negative fu-yin only gives us the timing and the severity.

He was diagnosed with cancer and it has reached the 4th stage in this year. Which part of the body is likely to be the problem area? Time to put on the thinking cap again. Will update you again in a few days time.

2nd update on 17th April 2016

Here is the answer you are waiting for. It is the stomach.

In this jia-zi luck pillar, the 2 jia stars will fight to combine with the ji and thus breaking the jia-ji earth combination. The 2 jia stars then counter the ji which represents the stomach. Likewise, the 2 zi stars will fight to combine with the chou and thus breaking the zi-chou earth combination. The 2 zi stars then contaminate the chou which also represents the stomach since the main qi inside chou is ji. The wu horse gives the final blow by harming the chou.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
