This is the chart of Joy Covey who was the former CFO of Amazon.com. She died recently on the 17th of Sept, 2013, at the age of 50, when her bicycle, moving downhill, collided with a minivan in California. In 1997, with her amazing effort, she made Amazon.com public with an initial offering price of USD18 and now the shares are trading at about USD318. In 1999, the Fortune magazine named her on a list of 50 most powerful women and in the same year the Forbes magazine reported that her net worth exceeded USD200 million, mainly from her stock options.

Looking at her bazi chart, she is a weak wu earth DM. A weak DM harnesses wealth through the self stars and so she became very very rich towards the end of her ji-wei LP. Ji-wei is a block of earth stars and the earth stars have very strong roots in xu dog and chen dragon in the natal chart.

As a weak wu earth DM, her Useful God is the bing fire, resource star. In her present negative xin-you LP, the bing-xin combo weakens the bing which already faces the constant countering from the gui of the year stem. In 2013, gui-si year, another gui appears and does a double whammy on the bing, and the hai of the hour branch also clashes away the si which contains another bing. Time and time again, when the Useful God are badly countered and clashed away, it always spells danger. The 3 protruding negative gui's also represent the negative yin forces which very often are the causes of sudden deaths from accidents.

This is the chart of Elon Musk, who is a South-African born American business magnate, investor and most importantly a great inventor. He is the founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla Motors which build rockets and the electric cars respectively. In September 2009, SpaceX Falcon 1 was the first privately owned rocket to put a satellite into Earth orbit. He is man for the future Space Age. His personal goal is to enable the human race to inhabit Mars. The electric cars will be the mode of transport for the near future. It will reduce our over-dependent on oil.

This is a weak Jia wood DM. I have chosen gui-you for the hour pillar so as to give him a strongly rooted positive water resource stars. A great inventor should have strong resource stars for the weak DM. The positive jia beside the DM gives him a good working team. The strong positive metal officer stars give him the authority and the nobility. In fact, with the resource and the officer stars protruding, the earth wealth stars are also positive. The only unfavorable stars are the fire stars. So, the first 5 LPs with the protruding gui, ren, xin, geng and ji are all positive. Let's hope with his advanced technology, he has more to offer for the present and future of mankind.

This is the chart of a successful man who had worked in the insurance industry. He was living in a big bungalow and driving a Mercedes Sports. Besides this, he owned a shop house and some other properties.

This chart is a weak wu earth DM and his wealth came from the strong earth stars with the ji earth rooted in chen. Insurance belongs to the earth industry and so he was in the correct industry. 

As a general rule, the Useful God for a weak DM are the resource stars. So, he became a millionaire in the bing-zi LP when his favorable resource star, bing protruded and was rooted in si. However, this chart is actually out of balance with all the earth stars being countered and surrounded by the very strong wood stars. The earth stars rule the stomach, small and large intestines and for the ladies, the womb too. During the bing-zi LP, this chart was able to maintain it's balance because the strong presence of the fire stars could arbitrate the wood and earth clashes. What happened when he moved to his next LP, which was the yi-hai LP?

During the yi-hai LP and in 2010, geng-yin year, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He had chemotherapy and later decided to have his stomach removed. Not long after the operation, the cancer cells spread and in a short time, he passed away. In the yi-hai LP, the negative yi wood appeared and added more wood energy to his chart which already had very strong wood stars. In the geng-yin year, there are 2 sets of yin-mao-chen wood seasonal combo. Initially, the chen did not transform because wu-chen was a strong block of earth star. However, after the removal of the stomach, the block of earth star was weaken and thus allowing the chen to transform into wood star. The transformation was supported by the mao month branch and the hai branch with the lure from all the yi's. The overwhelming wood energy made the chart totally out of balance and this spelled danger. The geng countering the 3 yi's was also an indication of surgery. This geng was however not strongly rooted and therefore it could not control the wood stars. So, the surgery did not help. Lastly, in the yi-hai LP, the hai clashed away the si which contains his Useful God, bing.

This is the chart of a 7 years old boy who recently found out that his father is having an affair. To complicate the matter, the lady is now pregnant.

To a wood DM, the earth star represents his father, the water star represents his mother and the wood star represents his sibling. So, the ji and gui inside the chou represent his father and the lady respectively. In 2013, gui-si year, the gui is revealed and so the lady is made known.

The year pillar is considered as "outside". So, the jia, his sibling star, inside the hai is waiting to appear from the "outside". The jia will appear in 2014, jia-wu year. Can you determine the gender of the baby?

This case study demonstrates to us that the hidden stems do carry a great amount of information. Some of the events are just waiting to happen unless human actions are applied to prevent them from occurring.
