This is a weak ren day master. Although there is a resource and an indirect resource star in the stems, there is no officer star to arbitrate the strong fire stars from countering these resource stars. Negative wealth stars countering positive resource stars means the owner has to be careful with her money. The negative wealth fire combo also tells a story but it is not appropriate to be discussed here.

This chart can only maintain its balance when the earth stars protrude. So, her best luck pillar is either ji-chou or wu-zi.

Ji-chou came too early and so her best luck pillar should be wu-zi because

1. wu earth helps to arbitrate the fire stars from countering the metal resource stars.
2. hai and zi are part of the hai-zi-chou positive water seasonal frame.
3. zi clashing wu horse is good since it is the positive star clashing away the negative star.

This is a strong geng day master. When the negative resource stars are the earth stars and strongly rooted, the owner will very often trust the wrong people. Besides, there are also two sets of mao-chen betrayal harm affecting his wealth star inside mao. So, take heed.

For a strong day master, it is important to have the output stars. So, his best luck pillar should either be ren-yin or gui-mao. I will not choose gui-mao because there will be more sets of mao-chen betrayal harms and the positive mao will also be clashed by the negative you rooster month.

So, the obvious choice would be ren-yin because

1. ren is his favorable output star.
2. there will be two sets of yin-mao-chen wood seasonal frames which represent his wealth. Although they cannot                   transform, these frames are still positive.
3. the yin tiger does not have any negative interactions with the natal chart.

This is a weak xin day master and also a cai-guan-yin chart. Technically speaking, all the elements in a cai-guan-yin chart are positive except for the output stars. A good grade cai-guan-yin chart should have strongly rooted resource, officer and wealth stars. This is quite a favorable chart because the resource earth stars are rooted. In the mao month, earth stars are supposed to be dead. Luckily, when the ji is rooted in chou, the earth stars regain its strength. The officer fire star is strong because of the wood season and the wealth wood stars are strongly rooted in the mao month. A weak day master also wants to be rooted in a self star so that the owner has better directions in life.

The present bing-zi luck pillar is not that favorable because of the interactions between zi and the natal chart. Zi and you is a destruction. Zi and hai is a half seasonal frame of negative water stars. Zi and mao is a punishment and zi-chou combination is not able to transform away the negative zi star because the mao month does not support the earth transformation.

I'm choosing yi-hai as his best luck pillar because

1. yi is his positive wealth star.
2. there are two sets of hai-mao which is part of the hai-mao-wei wood frame.

This is a weak ren day master with too much 7K stars. Technically speaking, when the resource star and the officer stars protrude, the wealth star is also positive but sometimes being too technical can cause us to miss some vital points. Too much 7K stars which are also clashing each other can reduce the positive effect of the officer stars tremendously. For a lady's chart, I guess you all know what the officer stars also stand for.

In this kind of chart where there are too much and strongly rooted earth officer stars countering the weak ren day master, we really need the metal resource star to arbitrate. Although, resource star geng protrudes in the hour stem, it is too weak to arbitrate because metal stars are supposed to be dead in the wu horse summer month. So, her best luck pillar will have to do with the metal stars.

It is best that the geng has a metal root in the earthly branch but in the ji-you luck pillar, the protruding ji adds more earth energy. Besides, the you is harming the 2 xu stars and the ji-you luck pillar will only appear at a very late stage.

The water protruding luck pillars are technically positive but I don't think it is going to be very good because when the resource star is too weak to arbitrate, the officer stars will counter it. This means that her money can be taken by others.

Geng-xu luck pillar is quite alright because the geng-xu fu-yin will strengthen the metal stars but there will multiple chen-xu clashes.

So, I'm choosing xin-hai as her best luck pillar because

1. the xin will increase the positive metal energy.
2. the hai does not form any negative relationships with the natal chart.
3. the ren day master will be rooted in hai which will help to strengthen the ren day master.

Please be reminded that finding the best luck pillar is just for discussion sake. Some charts are so favorable that it doesn't matter what luck pillar the owner is in. In some unfavorable charts, the best luck pillar might not be of much help.

This is a weak ding day master. From the technical analysis, when the resource wood star protrudes in the stem, the officer water star is also positive. The thing that I don't like to see in this chart is the xin metal clashing the yi wood. When negative wealth star counters the positive resource star, money could be an issue. Technically speaking, her positive luck pillars are those with water, wood and fire stars protruding. We will discuss all the six positive luck pillars and you can make up your mind which is the best.

The ren-yin luck pillar is a positive one. Ren water helps to arbitrate the xin from clashing the yi. The only problem is that there is a yin-si harm.

Likewise, gui-mao has gui water arbitrating the xin-yi clash but the you-mao clash is bad because the positive resource star is being clashed. The you-mao clash affects the hai-mao-wei wood frame.

The jia-chen luck pillar is very good with the positive resource star protruding. The chen too does not have any negative relationships with the natal chart. The xin cannot really hurt the jia wood and the ji too cannot combine away the jia.

Yi-si luck pillar is not really favorable although the positive yi resource star is protruding because yi will be clashed by the xin which is strongly rooted in the you year branch. The hai will also clash the si which holds her wealth because self star represents wealth for a weak day master.

Ding-wei luck pillar is quite favorable with the self star ding protruding and forming a positive fu-yin with the day pillar. The hai and wei are also a part of the positive hai-mao-wei wood frame. The wei also does not form any negative relationships with the natal chart.

As for me, I opt for bing-wu as her best luck pillar because

1. bing represents the sun and it gives warm to the cold winter morning. Bing also helps to melt the icy lake of hai.
2. bing which is her self star represents her wealth.
3. there will be a si-wu-wei fire seasonal combo. So, the fire stars will be strongly rooted in the fire seasonal combo.
4. the wu horse too does not have any negative relationships with the natal chart.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
