This is a weak geng day master. The rooted self stars are positive but it would be better if the earth resource stars are also present.

Another thing about this chart is that there are four peach blossom stars in all the earthly branches. Peach blossom stars can make a person more charismatic but they can also bring about problems with the opposite sex since all these stars are at odds with each other.

I will choose the earth protruding luck pillar as her best luck pillar. Between wu-xu and ji-hai, which is better?

I will not choose ji-hai because the hai will disperse the ji earth and ji without any earth roots is very weak especially in the wood month. So, wu-xu is definitely a better choice although there is a xu-you harm.

This is a strong ren water day master with very strong IR stars. Strong negative IR stars can make a person superstitious and unconventional. With the metal resource star protruding in the stem, this chart needs the wood output star to reduce the water energy. Unfortunately, the jia wood without any root is dead in the metal season and the jia wood is also badly countered by the strongly rooted geng. In order to strengthen the jia wood, this chart needs a yin tiger or mao to give the jia wood its roots. It also needs another water self star in the stem to protect the jia.

I will choose either ji-mao or wu-yin as her best luck pillar to give the very weak jia its roots.

Between ji-mao and wu-yin, which luck pillar will you choose as her best luck pillar?

In the wu-yin luck pillar, the two shen stars will clash the yin tiger. So, I will choose ji-mao as her best luck pillar.

This is a weak geng day master and this chart needs the earth star to be in the stem to maintain its balance. The good thing about this chart is that her positive earth and metal stars protrude in the stems during her prime time from her 3rd luck pillar to her 6th luck pillar.

Mao-chen is a betrayal harm and it involves trust and money. She needs to be careful about this.

Between wu-wu and ji-wei, which will you choose as her best luck pillar?

In the wu-wu luck pillar, the zi will clash the wu horse and the mao will also punish the wu horse. So, I will choose ji-wei as her best luck pillar although there is the zi-wei harm.

This is a weak ji day master and is in need of the fire resource stars. Technically, both the bing and ding fire stars are positive and can help to balance the chart. Water --> Wood --> Fire --> Earth. Without the fire stars, the wood stars will counter the ji earth day master. Between bing and ding, it's obvious that ding is more usable in the dark hours. So, ding-chou is his best luck pillar.

His current bing-zi luck pillar is quite favorable although there is a zi-wei harm.In his coming ding-chou luck pillar, the chou-wei clashes will release all the protruding stars but it's still alright since the chart is in balance.

This is a weak bing day master but does not have any resource star protruding. When the wood resource stars protrude, they will be countered by the strong metal energy. So, I will not choose wood protruding luck pillar as her best luck pillar. Instead, I will choose the fire protruding luck pillar. The positive fire self stars also represent her wealth and there is also the xu dog which has the storage of the fire energy. Besides, there is also the yin-wu-xu fire frame which is favorable although it cannot transform.

Between bing-chen and ding-si, which is better?

I will choose ding-si because

1. ding represents her wealth star.
2. ding-si luck pillar forms a positive fu-yin with her year pillar thus multiplying the fire energy.
3. ding fire is more usable in the dark hours of yin tiger compared to bing fire.

This is a weak ren water day master. The ji earth of the year stem combined and transformed the jia into earth star supported by the xu month. So, this chart has very strongly rooted negative earth officer stars. We need the metal stars to arbitrate the strong earth stars from countering the weak ren water day master. Obviously, this chart will be more balance when the metal stars protrude. So, I will choose the metal protruding luck pillar as her best luck pillar. Between xin-si and geng-chen, which will you choose?

I will NOT choose xin-si because

1. the si will destruct the shen which contains her favorable geng resource star.
2. the si and you will pull in the chou which then forms a bullying punishment with the xu and wei.

So, I choosing geng-chen because

1. the geng is her favorable indirect resource star.
2. the geng helps to arbitrate the strong earth stars from countering the ren water day master.
3. the chen clashing the xu will release more metal stars.
4. the chen and shen can pull in the zi which contains her favorable water star.

As you have seen earlier, the hour stem is derived from the day stem and the hour branch. Likewise, the month stem is derived from the year stem and the month branch using the same formula.

Picture
Example 1
From the table, for geng year stem, add 2 to chen which is the 5th animal. 2 + 5 = 7. The 7th stem is geng. So, the month stem is geng.
Picture

Picture
Example 2
From the table, for ding year stem, add 6 to si which is the 6th animal. 6 + 6 = 12. The 12th stem = 2nd stem which is yi.
Picture

Unlike the time of birth where there are early rat hour and late rat hour, the zi rat month is always the late rat month because it is in December. The zi rat month comes after the hai pig month in November. Since the hai pig is the 12th animal, the zi rat will be considered as the 13th animal and the chou ox will be the 14th animal. As you know, each year begins with the yin tiger month. So, the chou ox is the last animal for each year.
Picture
Example 3
From the table, for yi year stem, add 2 to zi which is the 13th animal. 2 + 13 = 15. The 15th stem = 5th stem which is wu earth.
Picture

Picture
Example 4
From the table, for gui year stem, add 8 to chou which is the 14th animal. 8 + 14 = 22. The 22nd stem = 2nd stem which is yi.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
