This is from my 32nd reader and also the last case of finding the Useful god. I hope all these cases have given you some ideas on how to determine the Useful god. I might not be perfect but my choices are based on sound bazi theories, be it from the technical or classical analysis.

1. El
2. Female
3. 26th January, 1994
4. 10.30 am
5. Cyprus
6. Student.

This ren day master is a weak one because she was born very deep into the chou month which means her season of birth is considered as the earth season. One school of thought teaches that when the gui or ren water star is in the stem other than the day master, the chou is considered as the winter season. That is why sometimes we need a little feed back. As for this case, I will read it as a weak day master.

So, what is her most important star?

From the technical analysis, a weak ren day master wants the resource metal stars. Geng should be her Useful god. Besides being the resource star, geng also combines away the two yi stars and turning them into positive resource stars with the support from the chou earth month.

From the classical analysis, this chart gives us a picture of a beautiful lotus pond with a morning rain at the end of a winter. The bing which represents the sun will make perfect this scenery.

I was taught to look at the month as determining if chart is strong and Chou is part of water since there is no earth season hence I enjoy your blog as an alternative view :)

Hi Master,
I enjoy reading your blog, it gives insight and always interesting information. If the chart has Yin Earth instead of Yin Wood and water in the stems, would you say it is safe to say it is weak DM since Chou now can be treated as Earth month. Would you consider it is a good chart as it has 3 Harmony ( Si, You and Chou = Metal already ). Lastly, seems it is Cold chart, so Bing or Ding is positive in this case. Many Thanks for sharing your valuable time and info. I am sure many people has benefited from reading your post.

Hi Ng,

If the month pillar is ji-chou, then we will consider it as the earth month. If this is a weak ren day master, then the si-you-chou will be a positive metal frame.

The strength of a day master is important from the technical aspect but when we are reading the chart from the classical point, we will ignore the strength of the day master. From the classical view, bing is useful in the morning of a winter.

So, what are her benefits when bing appears?

1. The lotus pond will be visible which means for her career, she can gain recognition for her work.

2. Socially, she will be more charismatic and popular.

3. Bing also represents her mother-in-law. So, she might enjoy a cordial relationship with her mother-in-law. However, if this is a weak ren day master, then technically, bing is her negative wealth star. For example, she might need to spend more money for her outings with her mother-in-law. This is also an example how we blend the classical and the technical theories.

Hi again Master,
Thanks for your quick reply ( very refreshing ). Sorry for my very limited knowledge in Bazi. What if Ji earth is not in Month pillar, say in Year pillar. Is it still considered as Earth month ? Just wondering, if Si, You and Chou combined to Metal supported by Chou ( mean while Rat also combined with Ox to water due to seasonal, but once Chou combined, it is no longer an Earth, is this a contradiction ? Many thanks again and really appreciate it. May Heaven blesses you always.

Hi Ng,

If it is possible, make an appointment and come to Malacca and I will answer all your questions. I hope you already have some basics.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
