Shen-sha or auxiliary stars can add another layer in bazi analysis. The auxiliary stars that affect us directly are the ones at the day pillar. The negative effect can take place when the day branch are clashed, harmed or destructed. If it is due to past karma, then the negative effect will be felt when both the day and year branches are disturbed.
The above bazi is just for our case study purpose and does not belong to a real person.
Let's take a look at this example. The auxiliary stars in the day pillar are Flying Blade and Sickness. This indicates that there might be an operation due to an illness in the future. If this is a lady's chart, then her father is the ding fire which is in the day branch. This means that her father too can face the same situation.
When we come across this situation, we need to analyse the whole chart to find out the cause for this kind of karma, especially the year pillar which represents the past.
First you need to know that the wood stars represent living creatures because wood is the only element that can grow as far as the five elements are concern. Yi represents the smaller ones while jia represents the bigger ones. Look at the chart and you can see that xin is countering the yi and there are two wei which contain the storage of yi. So, we can conclude that this person had killed many living creatures in her past life. The yi is also sitting beside the ren water which means that the creatures were from the sea. Probably, this person and her father were fishermen in their past but they need not necessarily be related.
Note also that her father star, ding is also in the graveyards of wei. Since wei stars are in the year and month branches, she might lose her father before the age of 35.
How can we rectify such a situation?
Of course, the Heavens will always give us opportunities to rectify our misdeeds. To reduce the impact of this kind of impending karma, my advice are
1. be a blood donor to save lives,
2. donate money for poor peoples' healthcare,
3. liberate lives by releasing fishes, especially for this case and
4. be a vegetarian to avoid indirect killing.
