His day pillar is ji-mao which represents seeds in the ground. What do you think is his Useful god? Please do not scroll down too soon. Exercise your thinking faculty first. I think the harder part is to identify his secondary Useful god.
Ji-mao represents seeds in the ground and this ji day master was born in the strong earth month with wu-xu as the month pillar. So, his Useful god should be the gui water to make fertile the strong amount of earth and to grow the seeds in the ground. As you can see from the chart, the gui water is in the hour stem and this water star is well rooted in hai. So, this chart is quite a favorable one.
What else does the chart need to be more complete?
The bing which represents the sun or the wood stars which represent the trees and the plants? Scroll up and think again before you scroll down for my thoughts.
The mao underneath the ji earth can also be seen as young plants. The sun is useful in helping them to grow but in the you rooster hour, the bing is powerless. As far as bazi theory is concerned, the sun in the you hour is the setting sun and it is considered as the arrival of nightfall. Remember that the bing in the dark hours represents the moon. So, the wood stars should be his secondary Useful god so as to make the fertile earth more functional. I will prefer jia wood because jia represents the trees and these trees can help to loosen up the strong block of wu-xu earth more effectively.
