The Earth Store Bodhisattva
Bazi is a  part of Chinese Metaphysics and this is an Art of the Heavens. So, it should not surprise you if the pillars can also represent the Chinese deities or even the Bodhisattvas. From my previous post, I have explained to you the reason why bing-shen represents the Monkey King. From our bazi charts, we can know which deity or Bodhisattva has affinity with us and praying to them can give us an added advantage.

The Earth Store Bodhisattva has vowed to empty the hell before attaining enlightenment and we can say that He is the highest authority in down under for undertaking such a great vow. Let me explain why the xin-chou pillar represents the Earth Store Bodhisattva. The xin in the stem represents his beautiful metal crown. Inside chou, we have another xin which represents the beautiful metal piece in his right hand. Of course, the ji earth represents the Earth Store Bodhisattva Himself and the gui represents all the hellish vapor beings. Please take note that the ji earth "controls" the gui water. So, all the hellish beings are under His charge. Since the two xin stars are the resource stars to gui, the great compassionate Bodhisattva will try His best to educate these beings. What a task!

Let me back up my case with a case study below.

When this 39 year-old lady came for a reading, she was suffering from acute kidney failure and had come to ask for direction. Most of the days, she couldn't sleep well because of the painful daily dialysis and wanted an explanation from her bazi chart. The bing-chen pillar shows that this lady has a kind heart and the xin-chou pillar shows her affinity with the Earth Store Bodhisattva. Obviously, she is paying a karmic debt as part of her purification process.

From the technical analysis, bing-xin transformed into water stars and thus making the chou a water season. So, from the ZiPing criterion, this ren water day master is a strong one and water stars are negative and strongly rooted in the season. Furthermore, the shen and chen pulled in the zi with the help of the transformed water lure in the stem and support of the season thus forming the shen-zi-chen water frame. Of course, kidney failure is water problem and too much negative water energy made it a severe one.

So, my advice to her is to go and pray to the Earth Store Bodhisattva. Amazingly, one day after her prayers, she had a vivid dream of the Earth Store Bodhisattva. Not long after, she was admitted to the hospital and a few days after that, she passed away peacefully. My interpretation is that the Earth Store Bodhisattva had come to ease all her pain and guided her to the afterlife. I hope she will have a better afterlife.

Hi Lwee,

A belated Happy Lunar New Year to you. May I know which deity or Bodhisattva would a Wu-Yin day pillar represent?

Thank you!

Hi Derek,

I like to wish you a happy belated Chinese New Year too.

Not all the pillars have a representation and we have to see the entire chart to know about the spirituality of a chart.

HI Jeff,

Wow. This is a very interesting one. Xin-si represents the combination and partnership between Kuan Yin and the Monkey King.

Do you know that the si also gives the image of the Monkey King? Look inside the si. Bing represents this Heavenly deity. The sub qi geng is his metal rod also known as "jin gu bang" while the other sub qi wu represents His flower fruit mountain also known as "hua guo san". So, it gives the image that the Monkey King is holding His "jin gu bang" and standing on His flower fruit mountain.

Xin represents both Kuan Yin and also the beautiful metal ring worn around the Monkey King's head. Xin and bing is a water combination that can weaken the bing. This means xin which represents Kuan Yin can "weaken" the bing in case He gets a little "naughty". Those who are familiar with "Journey to the West" will be able to understand better.

This bazi layer concerning deities and Bodhisattvas is a very interesting one and anything from the Heavens have to be logical and explainable. It is up to the discretion of the readers to accept it or not. I have seen it for myself in my own chart.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
