This chart is a weak ding fire day master and the most important stars are the wood stars, both jia and yi to keep the ding fire burning. So, this ding day master is actually sitting on her favorable yi wood inside mao. However, her negative wealth metal stars are very strong. When the wood stars jia and yi appear, they will be countered by the strongly rooted geng and xin. This chart too has peach blossom stars in all the earthly branches and they are punishing and destructing each other. These peach blossom stars can give rise to problems with the opposite sex. Since mao is being punished by the two zi stars, the quality of the mao is somehow affected.

I will not choose the wood protruding stems to be her best luck pillar because they will be countered by the strong metal stars. So, it should be the fire protruding luck pillar which is either bing-wu or ding-wei. Fire stars which are her self stars represent her wealth since weak day master harnesses wealth through self stars. Besides, the fire stars can also help to reduce the strength of the strongly rooted metal stars and warm up this cold winter night.

It is quite difficult to choose between bing-wu and ding-wei because both have their problems. In the bing-wu luck pillar, the wu horse will be clashed by the two zi stars and also punished by the mao. It is not favorable when the positive star is being clashed especially by a negative star. In the ding-wei luck pillar, the wei and the two zi stars are in a harm formation.
So, bing-wu or ding-wei?

I'm choosing ding-wei over bing-wu because ding fire can control the metal stars more effectively. Besides, the wei and mao are half combo of the hai-mao-wei favorable wood frame. Most important of all, ding fire which represents the fire place can help to warm up the cold winter night. Bing in the dark hours only represent the moon.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
