This is a weak ding fire day master but some people might read it as strong. The reason is that the wei month is still a summer month but 28th July is quite deep into the wei month which means that the earth qi is very strong. Regardless of weak or strong, a ding day master still needs the wood resource star to continue burning. When there's a bing in the stem and when the ding day master was born in the daylight hours, then the bing which represents the sun will overshadow the ding day master.  Ding fire represents the candle fire which will not be easily seen in the daytime compared to the sun.

The problem in this chart is that the strongly rooted metal stars which represent his negative wealth stars are countering his positive yi wood resource star. So, he has to be very careful with his finances especially during the xin-mao luck pillar when the mao will also be clashed by the you.

His best luck pillar has to be one of the water protruding luck pillars because the water stars will arbitrate the metal-wood clash. When the water star protrudes, the qi flow will be beautiful. Metal -> Water -> Wood -> Fire. So, between gui-si and ren-chen, which is better?

In the ren-chen luck pillar, the chen-you combination will transform the chen into negative metal star. In the gui-si luck pillar, there will be two sets of si-wu-wei fire seasonal combo which are positive for him since self stars also represent wealth for a weak day master. So, gui-si is his best luck pillar but it comes too early for him.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
