This is a strong ding fire day master and she was born in a very warm summer afternoon. So, this chart needs the water stars to cool the chart and also controls the strongly rooted self stars. It also needs the metal star when the water star protrudes or else the strongly rooted earth stars will counter the water stars. The second most important star in this kind of chart is the earth output stars since the output stars can also help to reduce the strength of the fire stars. So, the strongly rooted earth output stars in her natal chart are very favorable.

Since there is no metal star in the stem to arbitrate the earth stars from countering the water stars when they appear, I will not choose the water protruding luck pillar as her best luck pillar. Instead, I will choose one of the metal protruding luck pillars as her best luck pillar since metal stars represent her positive wealth.

Between xin-hai and geng-xu, which is better?

In the geng-xu luck pillar, the xu will clash with the chen of the year branch. This clash has its good and bad. It will release more of the stars that are already in the stems which are the positive metal star and the negative fire self star. The negative aspects of the geng-xu luck pillar are the mao-xu negative fire transformation and the wei-xu destruction of her children stars and children palace.

In the xin-hai luck pillar, there is a hai-mao-wei wood frame which will not transform because the summer season will not support the wood frame. The hai-si clash is considered a positive clash since it is the positive water star clashing away the negative fire self star. So, I'm choosing xin-hai as her best luck pillar.

It is my intention in this blog to share my BaZi knowledge through case studies using mostly the ZiPing technical method. This technical method stresses on the production and the destruction cycles of the 5 elements namely wood, fire, earth, metal and water. However, in July 2016, I have decided to include the classical method as I believe that the correct approach towards BaZi is to blend both these methods.
